Mandala series

I did it! My four weeks of touring are done! It’s been great I started with 10 days on our own with Olivier – children on holidays in France. Edinburgh, Harrogate, snowy Duxford and last weekend the Isle of Wight. It was great meeting lots of new people, making new connections as well as seeing lots of our old customers. This is the first Sunday I’m enjoying laz day at home in a month!

I had little time in between to get anything done, but I was demonstrating on the shows and I prepared Mandala wall hangings I’d like to do as a series to paint while talking to people.

The pink one was nearly finished before I came back from Harrogate. The grey/orange one was mostly worked on at Duxford and this week at home and it’s still not finished.

I have also been creating a sample for a new class – Hexies with a modern twist – I made a cushion, which I love for the colours! Bright colours with a combination of white are my favourite go-to colourway. For the table runner using the same technique, I have chosen grey background and yellows and creams and grey colours. As the hexagons have to be tacked by hand to prepared them it was a perfect project to take with me for the travelling.

Even though I jumped straight into teaching on Tuesday I have been busy finishing off things, like turning a panel I have painted as a sample into a cushion, shortening 3 pairs fo trousers for Olivier (Christmas present I have never written about – have to take some pics!) And most of the Saturday I have spent quilting a large wall hanging, but I’ll tell you all about that next week as I can’t wait to finish it now!!
