I said I will tell you more about our first Quilting Holidays which took place in third September week and turned out to be a great success. We had 8 students – few Islanders, most of them from the mainland and one lady even came from Spain!

Our tutor – well known Katharine Guerrier delivered wonderful four and a half days of sewing in the workshop with title Use up your scraps to build houses! ladies learned several different techniques and used up lots of leftover fabrics from other projects.
Some ladies were well on their way to finish a single bed quilt top, some decided to make wall hangings and managed to even quilt them. Either way they all enjoyed this week full of fun, laughter, relaxation and undisturbed sewing. The only time ladies had to stop was to have a cup of tea with Olivier’s lovely cake or lunch or dinner, which was prepared for them by owner of the Godshill Park Farm – Kathy and Mark Domaille – who put a lot of love and effort into their home made meals, which they were preparing every day.
