We just came back from our holidays in France – or longer weekend. And one of the reasons, we went was to visit French quilt show called Pour l’Amour du Fil (For the Love of Thread ).
We had great time there. The show is organized by the same company which publishes Quiltmania magazine and many books. The latest authors and their book had a beautiful display of the work.

The most magnificent was a display of “Dear Jane” Quilts. The pattern for this quilt was designed in 1863 by Jane A. Stickle and has been produced by thousands of woman around the world. There was over hundred of them on display in Nantes varying in size and colours. It was fabulous view as they were hung in two rows above each other. Quiltmania even made a bags to celebrate this 150th aniversary …. yes I do have one!
And the shopping area …. HEAVEN!!! I’ve never seen so many buttons and embellishments, French woman have style when it comes to clothing or quilts I guess. And I’ve seen that embellishing with cut out felt is very popular and very pretty as well. So we were tempted to some hand dyed felt. I will show you what I brought back with me … but some other day …
Thank you for reading
