Today I’d like to share with you one of my latest pieces I have made – it’s already in the Inner Guidance Retreat centre.
I love the symbol of LOTUS and specially what it represents – Its roots are in muddy water, but the lotus flower rises above the mud to bloom, clean and fragrant. The mud nourishing the roots represents our messy human lives. It is within our human experiences and our suffering that we seek to break free and bloom. Rising above the mud to bloom requires great faith in oneself, in the practice, and in the Buddha’s teaching (if you’re talking about the Buddhist symbolism). So, along with purity and enlightenment, a lotus also represents faith.
And the Peaceful Yogi sitting in the Lotus position – perfect for meditating – brought to me newly discovered meditating practice.
Little bit of paint to bring out the another symbol – Flower of Life.
I must say I love using batik or hand dyed fabric as a background … at the moment we’re buying them but one day we might get to dyeing them ourselves.

That is so beautiful – a reflection of calmness with the blues and greens.

Thank you! The choice of colours does influence the feel of a painting or hanging, doesn’t it?
